The service confines itself to initial assessment and emergency care. Any subsequent care being arranged elsewhere as appropriate.

Scope of Service
ED caters to all patients who require emergent care including but not limited to the following:
- Multiple injured patient
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Anaphylaxis
- Acute bronchial asthma
- The unconscious patient
- Seizure and convulsion
- Head injuries
- Shock
- Severe burns
- Orthopaedic emergencies
- Renal/ureteric colic
- Drug overdose and poisoning
- Management of sickle cell crisis
- ENT referrals
- Injuries and tetanus prophylaxis
- Cervical spine injuries
