Unit Description

Infection Control is a discipline concerned with prevention and reduction in rates of healthcare associated infections (HAI) in the hospital. It is staffed with Infection Control Practitioners that perform duties and responsibilities in monitoring, management and investigation of actual or suspected infections, in particular, department/unit (outbreak) under the supervision of Infection Control Coordinator and approval of the Department Director

Mission

The Infection Control Department Supports the hospital mission of promoting patient safety by reducing the risk of acquiring and transmitting infections; and to become a leader in healthcare epidemiology and infection control.

Our mission is to reduce healthcare associated infections by improving infection prevention control practices. We do this by enabling sound information, sharing evidence-based best practices, and influencing policy decisions.
